The PL280 is a compact PLC that integrates both analog and digital I/Os. It features a CPU based on the ARM CORTEX H7 480MHz microprocessor and is programmable with LogicLab (IEC 61131-3). The PL280 is designed as a control unit and connectivity node, offering RS485 serial (Modbus RTU), Ethernet (Modbus TCP), and CANopen communication capabilities.
The PL280 can be expanded using PLE500 I/O modules, which connect to the CPU via an internal real-time bus on a DIN rail, or with MCM260X modules for remote I/Os. It supports Industry 4.0 connectivity through the Modbus TCP protocol.
Additionally, the PL280 series can function as an I/O unit with Modbus TCP/RTU connectivity and serve as a secondary logic controller for temperature and process control. This is facilitated by the availability of analog I/Os for temperature and 4...20mA/0...10V signals, as well as PID-Autotuning function blocks in the LogicLab programming tool.
